Sony Jumps on the Web Video Bandwagon
Posted by Jon Beattie April 27th, 2007Sony have announced they will launch a video sharing site, eyeVio, on Friday this week. If the site is well received, they’ll look to launch it into other markets.
I haven’t actually seen specific data on usage of YouTube and similar sites in the Japanese market, so it will be interesting to see how eyeVio fares. News Corp. and NBC have already gone public with plans to enter the video sharing arena.
One thing is for sure, it is going to get crowded. I predict you’ll see a raft of more aggregators and video search engines emerge to filter through all the content.
